About Us

Our Story
York Dance Expressions is a dynamic non-profit dance studio committed to offering a rich variety of dance styles. Our mission is to inspire a lifelong love of dance while nurturing a supportive, inclusive community for dancers of all ages and skill levels.
Founded as Linda B’s School of Dance, we transitioned in 2017 to York Dance Expressions, upholding our commitment to quality dance education. We create a welcoming and family-like environment to inspire students in their dance journeys.
Meet The Team

Michele Groom
Studio Director
Michele Groom has proudly served as the Studio Director of York Dance Expressions since 2017. With a deep passion for creating an inclusive and welcoming environment, Michele is dedicated to ensuring that every student feels seen, supported, and empowered through dance. Her leadership reflects a strong commitment to the well-being and growth of each dancer, and she continues to shape the studio as a positive space for creativity, connection, and community.

Kelly Groom
Teacher
Kelly is a former Linda B’s student and dance company
member for 12 years. Kelly graduated from the University of Delaware with a BA in Criminal Justice and a Dance minor in 2019. She was a member of Delaware Dance Fever as a dancer and choreographer. She graduated from Widener Law School in 2023 and is currently a practicing defense attorney at MIJS in Camp Hill. Kelly has taught at
York Dance Expressions since 2015. She teaches jazz, tap, modern, and specializes in Hip Hop.

Sam Reese
Teacher
Sam is a former Linda B’s student and a dance company member for 11 years. Sam graduated from Central Penn College with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences. She is currently working at UPMC Memorial Hospital as a Surgical Support Tech. Sam has taught at York Dance Expressions since 2013. Sam teaches jazz, lyrical, modern, and specializes in Ballet.

Maddy Spahr
Teacher
Maddy is a former Linda B’s student and a YDE dance company member for 16 years. Maddy graduated from Elizabethtown College, majoring in Graphic Design, and has taught dance classes for two years. We welcome her to as a new addition to our teaching staff.
